This is maintenance on machine data, not a forecast of failure. A value crossing a limit is a different thing from a model predicting a breakdown, and we do not promise the second while it does not exist.

What customers ask first

Four questions about maintenance on machine data.

Is this predictive maintenance?
No. We do maintenance on machine data: when a value crosses a limit you set yourself, a work order follows. That is not the same as forecasting when a machine will fail. We do not promise those models while they do not exist.
We plan maintenance in Excel. What does this add?
Excel does not know what the machine did. Here a service hangs on the running hours, the downtime and the breakdowns of that machine, so the planning follows the usage instead of the calendar. And the history stays with the machine, including after the colleague who knows it retires.
Does this work on machines without modern controls?
Yes, but not in the same way. A machine that delivers data can trigger a work order itself. An older machine you plan on running hours or on an interval, and the technician records the intervention on the screen. The history is the same either way.
Who creates the work orders?
Three routes: you plan them yourself, they come automatically from an interval or a counter, or they start from a report off the floor. An operator reporting a problem does it on the same screen where they register production.

Maintenance is one module of the MOM platform. On its own you manage service intervals; with the production context around it you know what a breakdown actually costs.

Production monitoring

Without production data an intervention is a line in a logbook. Together you see how much production time the breakdown cost, and whether the machine came back up to speed afterwards.

Quality

A machine drifting out of tolerance rarely reports it itself. Add quality and rising scrap becomes an early signal for maintenance instead of a surprise after the fact.

Planning

Scheduling maintenance means little without knowing when the line is free. Together the service lands in a gap in the plan instead of in a running batch.
